Q:    Why is it showing that I have used so much of my web space that I am allowed to used, but i have a very small site.?
A:     There a few possible answers for this
1) If you have been messing around in the cpanel and clicked on "Interchange cart," then it installed automatically. This cart takes quite a bit of space (at least 5 MB). You can go into your cpanel and use "file manager" to delete the folder called "Catalogs" (it is in the highest possible level a folder can be). Also delete cart.cgi in the cgi-bin folder. This can be done in FTP also, but takes longer.
2) Maybe you are not deleting your old emails, and purging them out of the trash can. Emails count towards your Web Space limits. This can be done in your webmail. Maybe you have saved all of your sent mail. So check all of your mail folders and figure out what you need to save and not need to save. If you receive a lot of spam, you might have tons of unread email, that you don't even know about. you can limit the size of your email accounts under "Add and remove emails" in cpanel.
3) If you backup up your files with "Download/Upload backup file" in cpanel, then it makes a zipped copy of everything you have and puts it in a specified directory. if you do this often, then just delete the old backups with FTP or file manager after you do a new backup. This is a sure quick way to have a ton of space made free.
4)There could be other reasons, and if you are still having problems and believe you should have more space than you do, then email us and we will figure out the problem with you.

Q:    How do I use SSL?
A:     HostWalk offers shared SSL for all domains hosted with us at no extra charge. Use this address to access it:
https://pheaton.serversecured.net/~your_username/
Unfortunately, root relative links (beginning a link with a forward slash) will only function here if you begin them like this: /~your_user_name/. You can also do this type of link for non-https pages, and it will function just fine.

Q:    What are the hardware specs of the servers?
A:     The servers are constantly upgraded. If more drive space, memory, or faster processors are needed, they are added in at that time. The average shared server is a QUAD XEON processor system, with 4048MB RAM, and RAID hard drive(s).

Q:    How do I use server side includes (SSI) at HostWalk?
A:     Any page with an include file in it must have the extension shtml or shtm... such as index.shtml. Create a text file or an HTML file that will be the included file and then place the include code <!--#include file="filename.ext"--> at the place in the shtml document where you want the included file inserted. Be sure 'filename.ext' is the same as the file you created as the include file.
